Is it just me, or is this the most luscious, comfy, can't-possibly-leave-it TV room you've ever seen?
If I had this room, I might never get up off the couch. Anyone who wanted to see me would have to come over. No meeting at Starbucks. I'd have my feet up on that hide-covered coffee table and my back up against those pillows and my eyes on the screen.
This is part of a 9,500-square-foot ski lodge in Deer Valley, Utah, that former presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife Ann are putting on the market for $5.25 million. They are also selling a 6,400-square-foot home in suburban Boston for about $3 million.
Dang, just when these great house come up for sale, my income is slightly down due to the economy.
But here are the take-away design ideas: In a media room, where sitting down is the most common state of being, a low wood ceiling with beams gives a nice cozy feeling. And lots of stone helps provide a cave-like atmosphere. If I ever do create a media room, I'll remember these ideas.
