Rate This Remodel: Manhattan Beach fireplace

NoblefireplaceAfter moving to the U.S. from England several years ago, Kara Noble and her husband took on a 1940s Manhattan Beach bungalow that had been infused with way too much 1970s vibe.

Part of their challenge was updating a paint-specked brick fireplace (below).

    I think it looks great! Not overly traditional or modern. Will work well with any decor. Good job.

    i am so glad they didn’t use granite – just concrete. great cheap idea. i like the modern fire balls too.

    It desperately needs a mantle, otherwise looks good.
